China’s Wen Proposes Doubling Trade with Mercosur, Exploring Free Trade Area

BUENOS AIRES—China’s Premier Wen Jiabao, who is on a South American tour, June 25 told Southern Common Market (Mercosur) leaders that Beijing wants to double two-way trade within four years and explore a possible free trade agreement with the group.
Wen made the announcement in Buenos Aires at a video conference he and President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner held with Brazil’s Dilma Rousseff and Uruguay’s Jose Mujica. …
