Ukraine Enacts New Customs Code June 1 Aimed at Streamlining Clearance Procedures

MOSCOW—Ukrainian authorities moved to enact a new Customs Code, which takes effect June 1, aimed at simplifying customs procedures, Ukraine’s State Customs Service said in an announcement issued May 31.
The new regulations are designed to create favorable conditions for businesses, and introduce a new electronic declaration procedure for goods, the announcement said. The maximum time for customs clearance of goods will be reduced from 24 hours to four hours, it said. The number of required customs documents is reduced to three: a customs declaration, invoice, and declaration of customs value, the announcement said. …
