Joint Study Backs Trade Pact Among China, Japan, South Korea, but Stresses ‘Sensitive’ Areas

TOKYO—After years of work, China, Japan, and Korea have completed the first joint study report on a tripartite free trade agreement that backs Asian regional economic integration but urges the three countries to “make efforts to address the sensitivities of each country” in areas that need to be protected from abrupt trade liberalization such as Japanese agriculture, according to the report released by the Japanese government March 30. …
